Babette Viljoen


Babette Viljoen is a versatile musician and has been playing piano since the age of four.  She also mastered violin, organ, accordion, and bass guitar. She obtained her Master’s degree from the North West University in Afrikaans and Dutch.

Babette has taken part in various talent competitions, and in 2011 she won the first prize in the ATKV Crescendo Song Writing competition.  Her cabaret, “Anderkant Nêrens se Mense”, was part of the 2011 Aardklop programme.  She has performed with Hemelbesem, Lize Beekman, Anton Goossen, Sonja Herholdt, Jak de Priester, Kalahari Connections and various other local musicians. She was also part of the productions “God die digter”, “‘n Eeu van Eybers”, “Skynskadu”, “Ken jy tant Mossie”.

Babette is a regular performer at weddings and art festivals, and currently lives in Cape Town.

She is co-director of the production company BO PRODUKSIES PTY LTD.
